Family-Run, From the Wilds of South Africa
Our dream is to provide the world with the absolute best in pet nutrition.
After a decade-and-a-half at the helm, our founder Hannes van Jaarsveld handed over the reins to his youngest son Johan in 2014, with Morné and Marco van Jaarsveld serving as directors of administration and operations respectively.
Under the insightful leadership of the Van Jaarsveld family and with support from minority shareholder Janic Capital, Montego is ready to go global and become a favorite international pet food brand.

Manufacturing with NASA-Designed HACCP Principles
At Montego Pet Nutrition, our strict certification standards show our commitment to quality and safety.
Our veterinary-approved facilities follow NASA-designed HACCP principles, which include detailed hygiene and safety practices.
We use metal detectors and NIR scanners for regular testing and analysis, ensuring traceability from farm to production. We also conduct up to 35 quality checks every 15 minutes.
As proud members of The Pet Food Industry Association of Southern Africa (PFI), we voluntarily commit to international quality and safety standards, supporting ethical and safe manufacturing practices.

Free from grain, gluten, and artificial colors and flavors, Karoo Wild treats are produced in small batches within our FDA-approved facility.
Our careful production process ensures the preservation of natural flavors and textures, resulting in treats that are soft, chewy, and deliciously meaty.

Every Karoo Wild treat is packed with wholesome ingredients like pea, fish oil and sweet potato and all-natural flavors, complemented by aromatic infusions of oregano, rosemary, and thyme. specifically chosen for their remarkable health benefits.
